They are fine in my area but you need to reach out to your code office. My guest room only has a six foot slider and no one raised an eyebrow.

A swinging or sliding door to the exterior from a bedroom will satisfy egress requirements, but being that it opens to a Lanai may be looked at as opening into another space and not to the exterior. Ask your local code official.

Is the lanai closed or open? I can't see where this could not be an egress . Maye be do some checking with the town inspector .

In my state the two required first floor egress doors must swing but a slider will meet the bedroom emergency escape and rescue requirement.
