Help with house colors - Certainteed siding

We're in the beginning stages of building a custom home and are trying to decide a siding color. Our house plan is more of a modern farmhouse style, so our initial thoughts were between the Certainteed vertical siding/board & batten in either Colonial White or Snow. Colonial white seems very bright, but I'm worried that Snow will just look like a dirty white. I can't find any example photos (outside of the Certainteed website) that feature the Snow siding color. Does anyone have any photos of this color? Or thoughts on Colonial White vs Snow?

We're doing black windows and gutters, white trim, and a wood tone for the front columns/posts. Haven't made a decision on the back porch posts yet. The garage door will be Carbon Oak (https://www.chiohd.com/homeowners/garage-doors/raised-panel).

We're using the 3-car sideload plan here: https://www.familyhomeplans.com/plan-41906

We're also thinking of the Owens Corning Slatestone Gray shingle (https://www.owenscorning.com/en-us/roofing/shingles/trudefinition-duration?color=slatestone-gray) or Certainteed Pewterwood (https://www.roofle.com/catalog/certainteed/landmark/pewterwood)

I think I need to see the actual plan for your house or are you using that stock plan you show since IMO that does not show a side load garage . Post pics of the elevations of your actual home you are building please. This is a side load garage . As for choice of siding I need more info like are you planning some stone work ? IMO you do not choose garage door color until the main color of the home is decided.

Hi - thanks for your response. We know we're choosing white as our siding color, it was just a matter of which shade of white. I was looking specifically for examples of Certainteed Snow on actual houses or if anyone has experience with this siding color.

We haven't decided on stonework yet, it will depend on our overall cost. Based on the way things are going now, it's unlikely there will be any stonework.

Below is a screenshot of the 3-car sideload elevation:

I am having the same dilemma - hard to find pictures of snow. Can you share what color siding and roof you went with and any pictures? Thank you!

Did anyone find pictures? Or willing to share what they did ? In the same dilemma with snow or colonial white.

Me too! Did anyone find pics of snow versus colonial white?

Really love that board and battery plus the metal roof on the porch. Looks sharp 💫

We are also in same situation white looks very bright thats why we are bending to pacific blue. Your home looks awesome and not much bright. Is it south facing home ? Horizontal siding makes white less brighter as compared to vertical? Please advise!

We are in same situation and bending towards to pacific blue because white looks very bright. Your home looks great. Can you please share any pictures when sun is full bright? Our home is south facing and colonial white samples looks very bright. Dows horizontal siding makes white less bright as compare to vertical?

Our home is north-facing. The front doesn't receive a lot of direct sun, but I included a picture of the side in the afternoon so you can see how the siding looks.

I'm in the same boat as well,. The Certiainteed rep said Colonial white is there true white and snow is an off white. I ordered samples to compare

I'm looking at these 2 colors as well. The Certainteed rep says the Colonial White is their true white and the snow is an off white. I am getting samples sent to compare.

The snow is only available in the 8". Has anyone priced Everlast Siding?

I took pics of their siding a while back at a show room, so the light is not natural. Hope this helps.

    very helpful! Thanks!

Ram - what type of trim you did for windows? Our builder is doing azak but that looks very wide and we are looking something sharp and thin.

Thats our home and we bought colonial white samples that looks very bright. So we get confused white is very bright lets do light green like spruce or cypress 🤓 but still not sure 🤔

One more question your siding is board and batten but how much wide ? Is it 12” , 7 or 8 ?

The siding is 7". There is no exterior trim on the windows--the siding is just fitted to the window.

Our siding is 7". There isn't any exterior trim on our windows.

We are in the midst of building and are going to chose colonial white. Our neighbor is doing vertical siding all around in colonial white, 8”. I think it’s coming out great. This is their home. It was a cloudy day around 630pm, so minimal sun exposure.

This is another neighbor who did colonial white and a mix of 7” and 8” siding

    Final results

we have colonial white certainteed but are having issues matching a rollex steel trim color, snowmist is too cool/grey and their bright white is not true white, any ideas?

@K Ram what roof color did you end up choosing?

We used Owens Corning Estate Grey.

Thank you so much! your house looks great!

K Ram what color metal roof did you go with to match the estate grey

The metal roofing is black. I don't know the specific shade, as the builder sourced that material, but it's black to match the windows and the gutters.

Do you recall if the estate grey is duration or oak ridge line? They very depending on the line
