Is the Miele worth the extra money?

Currently have the original fisher Paykel (1999) dish draws. We're renovating our kitchen. I love the ability to have 2 dishwashers but the newer models look cheaper and I haven't read anything that says I should get them again. Looking at the Miele. Someone mentioned their proline has a model that has a23 minute cycle vs the 1:55 that I have with the dish drawers . Any opinion on this model and is it worth the extra money? Thank you.

Thank you so much for your response. I'm contemplating going for the professional model for the home which has 23 minute cycles. Part of me thinks I'm crazy for spending that kind of money on a dishwasher and the other part looks forward to having my dishes done in less than an hour and a half. Again, thank you for your response

We thought we were crazy for spending what we did and second guessed ourselves until it was delivered... but after it was installed, we have absolutely no regrets. The 23 minute cycle would be awesome! I'm sure it is an amazing dishwasher as all miele products are. Enjoy your new dishwasher:-)

are the dishes dry at end of cycle

The dishes are dry, if you don't take them out immediately. The door automatically opens a crack to let out steam. There isn't a heater, which just causes damage and melts things. I don't think an American dishwasher with a heating element gets them any drier.

Thanks for all your responses. We bit the bullet and invested in Miele appliances for our kitchen. Our dishwasher is their ProfiLine PG 8083 SCVi. We love it for everyday use. This weekend the dishwasher will get a "real" workout as I prepare and then serve dinner for 14. We also have their newest 30" double ovens and 2 fully intergrated 30 inch refrigerator and freezer. And most importantly, we're happy with our decision to go for the best.

Diane, did you go with a miele cooktop/range/rangetop?

No, just as I stated above. The dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and double ovens. I replaced my Viking dual fuel range with the Thermador because I wanted 6 burners and a 3rd oven.

Planning NC home to have Miele 48 range, hood, g5975scsf diamond dishwasher and possible refrigeration
And our Fl home dishwasher Went so thinking if we should do diamond dishwasher here too as we are wine drinkers hate the price, bit might bite the bullet

Have a Miele LaPerla, TOL in 2006/2007, installed in a new home Dec 2006. Works like a charm 1 to 2xDay. Super quiet, cleans beautifully, and never ever breaks, not once (knock on wood ;). In fact wife and I comment every now and than what a marvelous appliance that is. So... based on my experience I'd say yes. That said... I used to have a Bosch in a previous house (for about 3 years) and liked it as well - about 1/2 price ;) - although not as much room inside.

Hi Diane - I saw your comment from last year about buying the Miele ProfiLine PG 8083 SCVi dishwasher. How do you like it so far? We are doing a gut renovation to our apartment and am considering the Miele versus the Thermador Sapphire Series DWHD650JPR. I have the same question myself...is Miele worth the money?

Can't comment on the dishwasher, but based on my experience with double steam ovens, warming drawer and speed oven... NOOOOOOOOOOOO, hunk of junk

We did Miele lumen dishwasher in new build and Thermador cause of price-reviews are mixed on Thermador, but I bet Miele dishwasher will be great! I had Fisher Paykel, in present home loved it, but the bugs ate the motherboard!
