Furniture Design Dilemma Dining Room

What shape breakfast table?

I have a long 96 inch rectangle formal dining table in my formal dining area. I want to know what shape breakfast table I should get for my breakfast nook?… i.e. round, oval, or rectangle? My floor plan is open 3000 sq. ft. so there is space and rooms between the formal dining and breakfast nook areas, however, you can see both spaces from the other.

Thanks!

The shapes of the two tables do not have to be the same. What's most important is that each table fits the space it lives in and performs the functions required of it adequately. Once you've determined the size and shape that will best function in your breakfast nook, only then should you start thinking about how to co-ordinate styles between your formal and informal eating areas.

Doing it the other way around is like shopping for clothes by colour without first filtering by size.
