Are the fridge panels in one piece?

Hi! Can you please tell me how the fridge panels were made? We are attempting to do the same thing for our built-in refrigerator - make panels that appear to have drawers on the bottom. Our contractor states it will be too thick, because he essentially has to make three separate pieces and put them on another solid panel. I’d love to know how this was made.

This is older style fridge and most likely the door and drawers were installed on a 1/4 panel that slide into a channel on the door. The newer ones dont have that ability so we would take thin steel plates and fasten them to the back side of door and drawer faces and slide that into place. or dowel the drawer into each other and into the door, either option is a solution.
