They should have enough time to bloom this season - plant them as soon as you get them. My fall crocus don't start blooming until mid October here in north east Ohio and they can take a good amount of cold while flowering.

Are you sure that your ground is freezing in November or is it the air temperature that is going down to freezing? Here in zone 5 the ground doesn't start freezing until sometime in December - usually the ground is insulated enough to remain unfrozen until the temperature regularly stays 32 F or below.

Its the Colchicum 'Waterlily..I have ordered white, triple pink and pink. I live in Massachusetts.

I think you are right. The ground does not solid freeze until about December although the air temps fluctuate a lot. I can even get a week in November when it' sin the teens then 40's.

Very unpredictable. But until November for sure the ground does not freeze solid.

Did you get your bulbs? sorry but I dont’t think you'll see them bloom this year. your autumn crocus are colchicum and they will likely bloom in the box before you get them. If your soil is heavy be careful about planting them too deep. They will need to send up foliage for the spring, and in my experience the foliage struggles to come up through more than an inch or so of soil.

Here are autumn crocus in the lawn and the last colchicum of the season - the pics were taken today, Oct 16th - they are two different plants but both are sometimes called fall crocus.
