Looks the same. Thanks. Someone told me it's Joe Pye Weed. Sounds like they are similar but not the same? And this one is generally considered a weed?

Often sold as Chocolate Joe-pye syn. Eupatorium rugosum.

It's a prolific self seeder, and it will crowd out more desirable plants. The seeds travel in on the wind, so no need to intentionally grow it. It's enough of a nuisance to deserve the title of Weed. The chocolate variety is just as agressive. You can leave some plants for pollinators, in out of the way places. They lose their appeal when they become a monoculture.
