The front of the home does not give a MCM vibe. I would not chose a yellow or orange door - too bright - you may get sick of it soon. What are the colors of the neighbors homes? Where do you live? I would pick a color for the front exterior in a rather classic color. Or if you live in a very warm climate and your neighbors homes are brightly colored or pastel, you may want to use colors that are a little more bold.

If you like mid century why not go with period mcm paint schemes? Dark brown or almost black on all the trim- black fox or urbane bronze. Strip and stain the wood by the entry (or replace if it isn’t in good shape) Painting brick is way down my list of changes for this house.

I agree with Hallett. Start by painting out all the siding (esp. garage) a nice dark brown/black and then add lighting, landscaping and planters that look MCM.

A bright door as you suggested would be fun— that’s where the MCM palettes come in handy.

The house is beautiful. I would not call it an mcm house. Its a ranch house. It needs some nicer landscaping, and it needs the garage painted to match the house colors, so it doesnt stick out as the first thing you see when you look at the house. The brick is beautiful. Dont take something low maintenance and paint it, so its high maintenance. You could also use some colorful pots of plants and furniture on the front porch. No yellow or orange doors I love some of your beautiful interior 60s designs. I hope you are keeping them.

Show a close-up of the brick and front door area. Looks like there are some white windows and some black? Or am I just seeing black doors?

Looks like a very nice house, don’t deface it by painting the brick. A tiresome fad that can never be changed back. Especially if you have period Roman bricks. Brick in 1960 was considered very desirable, no way would anyone back then paint over it. It would not give you an MCM, ranch, or anything look, it would just give you a permanent thoughtless Trend of 2018-2021 look.

Painting the trim/siding/garage doors, etc, and landscape changes, would improve this already nice-looking house. Possibly new outdoor light fixtures, but I can’t see what’s there to know.

Your interior looks great and a few authentic MCM exterior touches could work, too. Go in that direction, not the MCM with Modern Farmhouse Frankenhouse look that’s so popular now (see Brick and Batten for some truly hideous makeovers).

Nice house! Love what you did inside. New garage doors for sure. Define the front entry, it’s a bit confusing. New landscaping. I like the brick and the wood siding, but am not crazy about the cream siding.

Ranch and MCM - and for that matter split levels and he earlier priaire style etc. etc. are closely related fwiw so its quite ok to mix and match design elements so long as it all hangs together in a visually cohesive way. Often times houses are "mutts," anyway combining popular features of the day.... strong horizontal lines, "of the earth" materials, etc.

Please hit pause and rethink painting perfectly good brick! The cream siding is OK - could be a stronger, beigier version but minor quibble. Its that dang stark WHITE thats the element that is the odd duck here. Getting rid of that will make the cream siding read as a white, but be more flattering of brick than stark white is. Get the stark white windows black like the others..... and maybe wood garage and entry doors with the money you save from not painting the brick? Or how bout those stylish black metal and glass garage doors (frosted glass if you dont want people seeing the mess in your garage LOL). The garage and front entry are the most prominent features of your house and that's where you should start your thinking process

You talk about matching the interior style with exterior - well, one thing I like about the interior is the generous use of natural materials - wood, tile, metals, leather, etc. You have that on the outside - ie brick. So that would be another argument in keeping the brick natural and unpainted!

My suggestion is to paint the white windows in black to match the others. I would go for a black trim with Urbane Bronze to balance with the brick and work on easy maintenance landscaping (grasses, perennials) for more curb appeal.
