Help! Pressure Vent Interferes with Kitchen Cabinet Installation

I have a pressure exhaust vent in my condo above my kitchen wall cabinets. I would like to install new cabinets all the way to the ceiling, but this vent gets in the way, as it is located in the same spot I would like to use for a 42" corner wall cabinet.

How do I resolve this?

Thanks in advance!

Post your cabinet elevations. You could do an open cabinet here, or Louvered doors, or a mesh insert. Or just skip it. Tons of options.

Here they are. This is an L-shaped 85” x 103 layout with a small peninsula. Ceilings are 94”. Please feel free to critique. Thank you!

I forgot to mention, the cabinets would have frameless acrylic fronts. I am aiming for a modern look.

A possibility would be to route the vent up the wall into the ceiling with a grille in front of your cabinets. This is typically done with a 3" x 10" duct box in the case of the vent size you have. Since you'll be covering over the wall & ceiling with the cabinets, wall repair can be rough. The challenge might be to get around the corner from the wall to the ceiling - you may or may not be able to cut the top plate out. If that's the case, you could handle it by running the duct in the top of the cabinet to the ceiling. It would require someone with some skills to get it to look good.

Thank you, Troy. The ceilings are concrete, so that adds to the challenge.

Where would the vent be in the layout? also your overhead seems to show a corner angled cabinet on the DW run but the straight on view shows a cabinet dying flat into the wall. which one is correct?

The vent is on the right wall near the corner, where the corner cabinet is

The corner between stove and sink or the corner cabinet to the right of the DW.

I have never encoutered this pressure vent thing . Waht pupose does it serve is it still even working in the space . I need a bit more info please . Off the top of my head maybe the open shelving . No peninsula in what I see Who is designing this kitchen? You need a KD not a cabinet sales person for sure 85" is not much space and I for sure would not do a double door fridge , Whay are there 2 entries in to this tiny space ?How are you venting the range ?

Spitballing here but omit the top of the corner cabinet so the vent can suck in air from above the cabinets, either omit the filler above the cabinets or get a long saw kerf cut into it to allow it to breathe while still looking contemporary

Thank you, Hallett & Co. I really like that linear vent idea and the cabinet top removal. As others noted, this is a very quirky space. I appreciate all the comments!
