I might paint/seal it with some Kilz or something to make it easier to clean in the future. It doesn't look too bad though.

Clean it good with a antimicrobial cleaner, let it dry out and definitely seal it with Kilz primer.

Thank you for your reply! some of the back of the cabinet was rotten so i removed what i could and sprayed it down. would it be better worth the trouble to remove the whole cabinet the drywall seems okay behind it but im not sure. it looks pretty scary

Whoa. If that leak was large enough/long enough for the cabinet to rot, you need to pull it out. Check the drywall behind, check the subfloor. How did your inspector miss this?

Gosh- no idea smh. im ordering a new cabinet to replace that one but now that I pulled some of the pieces out and placed them outside- is it safe to stay in the house? i had the nearest door and window open while i was spraying it down/ working but after researching im kinda nervous.

gosh- just love when you pulled back the layers of an older home- it just gets better and better
