Gas or electric? Is this for a new kitchen layout or a retrofit?

I soured on oven/mw combos when my KitchenAid microwave died after only two years. The cost of repair had to cover labor fees for two repairmen needed to pull the unit out, so it made more sense to purchase a $150 countertop mw ( a Panasonic, which lasted 15 years, replaced only because the door latch didn't work well anymore.) I liked the KA convection oven very much, but replaced it with a GE Profile which performs even better. The Profile bakes more evenly, is much quieter, stays cleaner, & has some bells & whistles that I find useful. We built a cubby above it to house another Panasonic countertop microwave. If it fizzles, we can take it out & plug in another.
