Frigidaire Induction Range Opinions

This seems like a too good to be true deal. Ratings are very good. I’m open to electric or induction. Anyone have this one?

Wow, what a deal. Small thing, but it comes with 3 oven racks too. Induction is so much nicer than radiant: cooler, cleaner, more responsive, steady. Do you have induction compatible cookware? I'd get it, if I were looking for a range on a budget.

    Interesting discussion here:

This range received a "recommended" rating from CR and, well, you can read owners' reviews on the Lowes and other websites. The only oddity is that you cannot program the cook time of the oven, only the start time. At 8-3/10" inches, the largest element is smaller than that of other induction ranges but at $1200 this range is a steal. Want control knobs, an 11" element and timed cook, the Samsung NE63B8211SS is only $100 more.

I recently purchased this induction range to replace a radiant range in a kitchen I plan to remodel down the line - but wanted something reasonably priced to use until I remodel. I have used the cooktop -- works just fine (boils water super fast), responsive to temperature changes (usual for induction) -- and I have used the oven, which also works fine -- the racks in the oven are basic -- not easy glide, which I do miss. Compared to my Wolf induction cooktop, and my Electrolux Oven -- not near as nice, but for the price, just great!

I have this range (purchased in March of 2022) we had a gas oven but wanted to switch to induction and this model was the least inexpensive option. It does the job, had a bit of a learning curve at first in figuring out the best number to cook on for various foods, especially when making rice- but have it sorted out now. I haven’t used the convection/air fry option so not sure how that differs from the regular bake option. The range does make that noise some induction makes once turning it on but I don’t notice it after a while. My hesitation in switching over was that we make a lot of pizza and I wasn’t sure if I could get the same results as when I had my gas oven but it hasn’t been an issue at all.

Does programming a cook time in an oven even make sense? I would think a properly insulated oven would stay hot for some time after it goes off and you kind of need to get your food out anyway.

    Pizza review is important--thanks!

I found delayed start/timed bake modes to be enormously helpful when I was running around with kids' activities back in the day. I would come home from work, put a cold casserole in the oven, drop off/pick up kids, do errands, pick up kids, & come home to a finished dinner. Maybe the lasagna would be a little overcooked sometimes from sitting in a still hot oven for awhile, but so what.

I still use those modes, though now I can operate them from my phone: start preheating while I'm at the grocery store or coming home from somewhere. Or use the timed bake so I can be out in the yard or at the pool & the oven turns off by itself.

Seems like a great deal and certainly worth a go. FWIW I bought an Electrolux free standing induction range about six year ago - E'lux and Frigidaire are part of the same company. It wasn't terribly expensive which is one of the reasons I chose it. It's been trouble free so far (knock on wood). Mine has the same cooktop layout which I really like. Also has the Quick Preheat which I find useful.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I ended up getting a great deal on a Samsung induction. Same features as the Frigidaire just a few bucks more for a nicer cooktop. Not my dream Bosch but glad I took the plunge to induction. Now off to buy some new cookware :-)

"Now off to buy some new cookware :-)"

The IKEA 365+ and Hemkomst pots and pans (the latter with glass lids) work well on my induction range.

15 years ago I got two IKEA 365 pans for the circa 1983 induction cooktop in my "new" house and I'm still using them (now on gas). The other pot I used at that time was a hundred-year old Wagnerware cast iron Dutch oven.

I recommend the IKEA and good cast iron!
