light control in office/bedroom

My husband’s office is sometimes used as a bedroom. This is an odd hexagonal shaped room with ultra high ceiling. The top of the three small windows is roughly 16’. In the past we have had access to an extension ladder and a brave soul to cram in foam core board to block out the morning light. I plan to have extra shutters made for the lower windows and maybe draperies for softness. I’m thinking that I should just get fixed closed shutters made for the three small windows and be done with it. Does anyone else have a brilliant idea? We’ve been here 5 years so it’s past time to have a permanent solution!

What about black out Roman shades with an electronic control? I’d hate to permanently block the light if it’s only occasionally used as a guest room.

Have them hardwired. It is only low voltage wire (basically bell wire).

I was trying to minimize a worker being up that high! Maybe it’s my own fear of heights that’s getting in my way!

Hardwired is one option for a motorized blind, or many companies are now also offering a solar panel option where the panel sits between the headrail and the window to recharge the lithium batteries. Might be a good solution for you!
