Pendant Lighting Question

I am looking for guidance to decide on pendant lighting for my island. the island will be 63” x 37.5”x 36” and ceiling height will be 87”. The space will be open to the dining and living rooms. The pendants I’m considering are industrial chrome dome lights that are used a lot in Hamptons style homes.

One option is 14” in diameter and 14” tall. With a 6” rod from the celing that would make the fixture 31” above the counter. Using two would give an oversized look. If I space them 6” from each counter edge, there would be 23” between pendants. I‘ve also thought of using just one in the center for a more minimal look since i will also have recessed lighting throughout the space.

The second option is to use two 9” pendants in the same style that are 8.5” tall. I could hang these down 10.5” from the ceiling which would give me 32” clearance from the counter. If these were spaced 8-12” from the counter edge on each side they would have 21”-29” between them.

Which size would you choose? I’m worried the smaller ones will look dated but i can’t find an affordable version of this pendant in the right finish around 12” in diameter. The bigger ones might work with spacing but look too large with the ceiling. All the guides I look at seem to only consider much larger islands.
