the stalk will eventually dry and become ugly.. cut it off then ..

this plant borders on succulent.. so water sparingly ...

if thats a south facing window.. and blinding sun comes in.. you might want to harden the plant off to direct hot sun.. you dont really know where the plant came from.. so you dont want to burn it ... just push it a little to the right if need be ...

Thank you both. It is in a Northeast facing window, brief direct sun just in the middle of summer, from sun-up until the sun goes behind nearby trees, but from Aug-May, no direct sun at all. It's not using much water; it's been over a month since watering and the insert-meter still says wet. It seems quite happy here, and the Topsy Turvy description says needs some direct sun and bright light and not indoors, so I'm still not sure. Echeveria yes. Leaves are long and thin with a crease down the middle. Sorry about the focus.

Is that your only window?

Well, it's the only *available* window. The plant is a little phototropic, so it does want more sun, but it's been growing and flowering since early spring. All my windows face northeast because the view is fantastic; it's why the house was built here. You can see a little river fog in the first photo, and the beginnings of the far bank. Western Oregon.

Sounds like it ain't broke, so don't worry about fixing it. And agree, the view IS fantastic!

House plants not getting enough outdoor light can be given artificial lighting. In general flowering house plants need more light than foliage house plants will get by with. And with dry climate succulents we are talking about kinds that may often be adapted to growth in quite bright and hot outdoor settings.
