Kitchens Woodworking Design Dilemma

Tying in cabinets to crown molding…

If you take your cabinets to the ceiling and also have fascia/crown molding that goes around an open space including the kitchen…. How do you tie it all in? Are you restricted to white cabinetry to match the white molding?

If a cabinet color other than white is used the crown and any filler is the same color as the cabinets.

I think you can be creative and strategic...

Gorgeous stained cabinets, but I would prefer a matching crown. It's okay if there is a transition to another room IMO

You use the same profile, and the cabinet molding is cabinet colored, and the room molding is the trim color. They join smoothly at a corner, one color to another.
