You might try to post this photo in your original thread since readers may not fully appreciate what you tried before.

I realize that several people told you to place all chair legs on the rug. My take is different-front legs only of sofa on rug and the same with the chair. Otherwise I think you are forced to compress the furniture into a smaller space based only on the size of rug.

Another comment/ question-from this photo, the sofa seems off-center in the space due to the asymmetric side table placement. How would it look if you move the side table next to the chair, centered the sofa on its wall and used small drink tables next to the sofa (I think you already have one)

New update sorry to make you crazy, but all the different comments make me crazy lol i just want my room perfect i moved the chair by the balcony door and mived the couch centre and mobed the picture centre to the couch does rhis look better than the chair on the other sode of the room ?

Your layout is fine. And as I told you before - there is absolutely nothing wrong with your rug. Also, all of the furniture in an area does NOT have to completely, or even partially, be on a rug. This ‘rug police‘ madness that occurs here on this Alice in Wonderland forum is beyond ridiculous. Thank goodness your husband put his foot down.

For nighttime lighting I’d suggest a slim column like floor lamp in the corner so you don’t have to rely on the ceiling lights alone….otherwise it looks great!

Love it with the chair by the door. Now the room invites you in rather than feeling closed off.

I think you new layout looks relaxing. If the sliding door gets used consider moving that small table to right side of chair. Enjoy your updated space!

Freedomplace1 is correct. Contrary to what many on here think, there is no set rule re furniture / rug placement. Actually, I was surprised when a friend of mine ( interior designer for high end homes ) told me that there is a trend away from that ”rule” ( that at least all front legs should be on the rug ). Your room looks great .

Love your room with the chair by the windows and agree the rug looks fine! Some people on these boards seem to think money grows on trees and encourage people to replace perfectly fine items in favor of something THEY prefer. Enjoy your beautiful room!
