Headboard covering window

I just moved into my house and bought a bed where I didn’t realize I would hate having 1 of the windows covered up by the headboard. Any ideas for fixing this problem? I have reseached some options already such as

- using ceiling to floor curtains to blend in the window

- cutting the headboard down to shorten the height

The wall my bed is on now is the only option as wall 1 has a closet door and door to room, wall 2 has a bathroom door on it and wall 3 has another window so it would be the same problem.

You’ve already two of your options, though cutting down an existing headboard might look strange since you’d be messing with the proportions. Option #3: Return the headboard (and possibly the mattress, box spring and frame) for a shorter one. Posting pictures would be helpful, though. I’ve solved this problem MANY times. 😉

Option 1. Use curtains behind the bed. Pull the headboard out 5 or 6 inches to make room for them and hang sheers. They bounce the light from the window in all directions, and the diffuse effect would minimize the problem even more.
