So now this is what? If the kids use it to dump stuff wher eis it now in relation to the main part of the house .I think if this is the natural space for dumping stuff maybe it needs to be amud room . Please post a to scale drawing ofnthe whole main floor so we can see how it relates to the new space .I look huge bit that can be camers angle. I think it would be a nice sitting space but you need to be honest as to who would you sit there and for what purpose?

We agree with creating a foyer/walkway in the area that you want a sitting room in. It might be nice to have a sofa or sectional facing the wall it is currently on. We might suggest adding a sofa table to the back of it so that it creates an area to set things down when you come in the door. You could add a nice piece of artwork to the black wall to the left of the door or add a space to take off shoes and coats further down on the blank wall.
