Maybe this looks better in person, but it looks like you have a warm/cool clash with the walls and floor right now. So I would start by painting the walls where the tile is a warm white/off white, or replace the tile if it's old. I don't think you need to do any board and batten as there is enough going on already. You don't have enough wall area to make this work. The white console doesn't look right with the tile floor either. If you're handy you could paint it - maybe green if you like green, but not blue or gray if the floor is staying. Charcoal gray can work with warm colors. Then put some art or a mirror over the console with a few decorative items.

I don’t think you need board and baton. I’d faster change the mirrored doors out.

Here’s what I’d do :

Peel and stick wallpaper

New doors for the mirrored closet.

New light fixture.

A door mat and a few decor pieces

A new entry light for sure alarge piece of art and a shallow cabinet thta does not overlap the window visually . I would not add trim to bring attentio to the mirrored doors I have seen wallpaper applied to mirrored doors and you could do that whole wall in a nice wallpaper to make those doors at least less in your face . A nice rug to hide as much as possible of the tile if that is not in the budget .

Can you show the view from the door?

Initial thoughts (not knowing what styles you like) … an entry table that has a more interesting look. Something stained, carved, with curves, whatever, but that has more of a presence. I’d find art you love for above it, and would add a lamp. Other decor on table could be a plant, a bowl for keys and such, etc.

I’m wondering if the console would be better on the other wall, as the door opens into it now, and it’s right there as you round the top of the stairs. If so, a plant or something else could be an accent on the wall where it is now.

A rug would bring in softness and warmth.

The foyer should introduce you, your style and hint at what one may expect in adjoining spaces. So we're working in the dark without knowing anything about those three variables.

Before choosing replacement doors for mirrors consider other door styles you have in adjacent areas, so you don’t have a hodgepodge going on.

The wall with mirrors doesn’t look very deep, is there anything behind those mirrors? If not then maybe remove and put drywall there.

@jackowskib it is a closet….you are being faked out by a framed mirror hung on the perpendicular wall giving the illusion that there isn’t depth. The other room you see is a reflection in that mirror.

Ditching the mirrored doors seems a must. No matter what else you do in the space, it will be brought down by keeping those mirrors. I'd budget for new doors first and then see how much $ you have to work with. I think you can illiminate the work of board and batten if you find a great rug, mirror or artwork, and a new light. Can you tell us more about your style and show what is in the adjoining rooms?

Have you thought of turning the sectional so the long part is perpendicular to the window right of the fireplace? Then your white foyer table could go behind the shorter side of the sofa (which will face the fireplace) and offer a more welcoming and open invitation into the room, while separating living from dining. I can't identify the subject matter of the art, but if it isn't a family photo collage, move that wall decor into the foyer and hang a floating shelf below it. Move TV to the newly empty wall so it is opposite the longer side of the sofa. Here are a few floating shelf ideas with art.
