Wish we would. But we got 1/10-inch over night, with the "iffy" prediction of another inch to follow.

It's raining gloriously here, with at least an inch predicted. My little rose sticks will hopefully spring into action, but the most important thing is how it will help all the half dead trees and shrubs, and with it all living things that need rain to thrive. My heart is bursting with gratitude,. Jeri, fingers crossed for you!

We had 1.6 inches and that is excellent. Mountains nearby had 6 inches. I hope there will be lots more to come but the predictions are for another winter of scant rainfall. At any rate, this is so helpful for the vegetation which looked to be on its last legs in many case in my area.

Well, this is embarrassing.

It turns out that we had about 1.8 inches, not the three inches I reported earlier.

I have two other rain gauges in my garden, inserted in the ground to monitor that the irrigation is working properly. I checked them because it seemed odd to me that we had such a different result than everyone else. The one I usually use to monitor rainfall is mounted on a pole on the fence, and that is the one that had three inches. Normally it is accurate, so I do not know what happened this time. I cannot imagine what would cause this, but it is better to know what really happened rather than live in a bubble of self-delusion.

We got 1.1 inches of rain here in the past week - yay! First substantial rain since last Dec. The garden is so happy - and so am I.

Thanks for the honest reporting. Even an inch plus counts. Here it's gray, damp, chilly (good! seasonal!) but droughty.
