looks very much like it, I dont know whether there are some lookalike species

re species/ cultivar: hard to tell, I keep growing them and try to collect seeds, some just reseed themselves, they got bigger and lankier over the years , about 4 feet,

compared to the "tea cup poodle-versions" by Th*mpson & Morgan or some such,

mine always show a range of mostly orange hues, some with brushed on patterns like dark orange on orange,

the very bright yellows or dark red-orange ones tend to disappear, so it just could be a "feral" Cosmos, slightly hungry

the flower size probably varies with the soil or water supply
