If you pick something as reflective as MOP, make sure you know how much direct light will be on the backsplash. You don't want a bright glare/reflection in your kitchen at certain times of day. The glare can then also reflect off the counter if your counter is polished. I had these issues when I tested tiles in my new kitchen, so I ended up going with a honed marble mosaic.

What did you end up picking? I just installed that MOP in my hutch in my kitchen and am looking at that picket in the rest of my kitchen.

Hi. I ended up selecting the mosaic mother of pearl tiles. I chose the mosaic tiles because I plan to take the backsplash up to the ceiling and there is a window and range hood where there is narrow surrounding wall space. I thought the mosaic pattern would work better in those particular narrow areas. It was a hard decision. I have not yet moved into my new place so I have not seen the final results.

I went with the pickets (still need to grout) on the main walls and that same mosaic in my hutch. I much prefer the mosaic it’s really pretty and “soft.” It gets lost now with my pickets.

Your kitchen looks amazing! I had planned to use a white range hood, just like yours, but ended up going with stainless for budgetary reasons. I definitely prefer the white hood. Since I selected with the stainless range hood,I had to leave off the crown molding- yours looks fantastic! I would love to see your mosaic tiles.
