No. Meyer lemon is a specific type of lemon. It is about half the tartness of a regular lemon and is about 5 degrees more cold hardy than regular lemons.

Your Kumquats seem to be quite round; mine are more oval. How big are they?

I think they are about an inch in diameter. They are also sunken in slightly at the flower end

The acid vs sugar ratio in a Meyer lemon is determined by degree of ripeness. A Meyer lemon is a Meyer lemon with variation caused by rootstock use. They do not grow well from seed. Are you in Washington yet. You can plant a Harvey lemon in ground in Washington.

Congratz on the fruit! I still haven't tasted a fukushu yet. Almost bought a tree one day, came across a beauty at a nursery near Charlotte, but money was too tight for me at the time to justify buying it.

By the way, I came across another source for a Marumi tree today and thought of you because I remember you were looking for one also at one time: Pearson Ranch lists Marumi on their list of trees for sell. I don't know what rootstock it's on, but I may call them up and ask.

Thanks Dave. I can tell you that a ripe Fukushu taste sweet/acid is on par with a Meiwa kumquat when it is still mostly green. The Fukushu kumquat seem to take 8 months from flower to fruit while the Meiwa take 4-5 months. The Fukushu tree seems to be easier to grow but the Meiwa grows good fruit much more quickly.

As for the Marumi my research has proven that It will not grow inground around here. This negates my use for it.
