We have an "enclosed" porch with plastic, I assume vinyl, window panes. They need to be replaced, but we don't want to do vinyl again for various reasons. The porch was enclosed with a manufactured extension and the wrap around walls of windows are just very light aluminum.

We were wondering about acrylic. Is that a thing? Is it possible to put it in the kind of aluminum frame that the vinyl is in? What about cost? Is it something that could be a DIY job?

If someone could point me to a source of information where I can just ask a question without having to give all my information and get hounded with sales calls, that would be awesome.
