Please post a floor plan. Anything with a curve just sounds like contractor problems waiting to happen. However, you can do angles.

Are you working with a kitchen designer, as there could be alternatives that might work with narrowing near den‘s end, if that helps.

Or use a narrow/shorter configuration.

Really depends on layout and your island needs as well.

Rule of thumb is that you need at least 13' before considering an island. You are 2' short of that. Consider reducing that 14' 'door' and use perimeter cabinetry.

11' is not large enough for an island normally.

Please post size of your den, if your a den is large enough, it’s possible you can connect the island to the opening without being obtuse in the room
