glass mosaics are tricky to install.

if you drop something on it (like the hand held unit) it could chip.

some glass tiles have tiny fissures on the surface. these need to be sealed.

cleaning means non abrasive.

I have glass mosaic in my other bathroom. I did have to seal the top. the grout is difficult to keep clean, but it's not too terrible. (it's the walker zanger glass tile)

behind my sink in there, I have a 1x1 glass mosaic that is pretty thick. I'm not worried about anything breaking those. for the floor, it would be fine because they're not fragile.

these glass penny rounds would be nice for the floor

Why not use the glass on the wall or niche and get something a little heartier for the floor? If this is a shower that gets used daily, keeping the grout clean is an ongoing dilemma. you want to be able to use the proper cleaners.

The lighting isn't the best but the multi colored tile is glass mosaic. The next picture is the wavy white tile for shower wall and the octagon is the bathroom floor. I have a navy blue vanity and brushed bronze fixtures. I was thinking of keeping it simple and bringing color in in other ways. We aren't doing a niche. You bring up good points and I appreciate your response. Beautiful bathroom!

Thank you for feedback! I'm not sure if he is a high end installer or if this is exactly high end material. He was the one that said it might be slippery. Im thinking he doesn't feel comfortable with it maybe.

those are nice tile options.

You could also check out the porcelain hex mosaic or even the penny round mosaic.

lots of color choices and you won't have to worry about any of the issues w/the glass.

I love the tile choices! I hope the glass mosaic will pass any tests you need to conduct.

I know that the Lunada Bay glass mosaics in the silk finish are appropriate for shower floor installations.

Thanks all! Beth H, I am going to head back to floor and decor and look at those 2 hexagon ones in porcelain and ceramic. Im just going to play it safe and hopefully one of those will work out.

I like the small hex tiles better than penny rounds. The straight edges make it a little easier for a less-than-master tiler to get the right spacing between the tile sheets. (do a search here on penny tile to see what the problem can be.)

I kept it simple with white hex tile in shower as well. I'll bring color in with accessories then.
