elevated pool question with pool house

Hello
Trying to figure out if you all think this looks okay

We have a pool house and were told last minute it’s needs to be 18 inches off the ground

We are doing accordion doors and did not really want steps to the pool house

Our only other alternative is to raise the pool some to match the pool house so they are level

See that attached pictures from another home.
Do you guys think this looks okay architecturally
Or should we keep the pool level with grass and live with stairs to pool house?

Sounds like a major oversight. All the elevations should have been finalized before anything started on your property.

Don't mess with the pool height. Leave as is. As mentioned, it can look nice with an elevation change.

Considering making the top step 24"-30" wide. A landing if you will. This way the folding doors when opened won't be an intrusion on the top step. The remaining treads at 14" are more comfortable than a traditional 12" step.

We use this same concept for entry points into a pool on a new build.

Depending on proposed overall height above the pool deck, if the run, the space between the pool and the pool house, is roughly 16'-18', it won't feel like your "stumbling" onto the pool patio.

From the pic it looks about 15'-16' from the pool? That can work in your favor.

I am not sure how you would “raise the pool” at this point in construction. But…if you are required to have steps up to the pool house, make them part of the design. Full width of your opening so that movement in and out to the patio that I imagine will surround your pool will be achieved. Elegant, with pots marking either side of the steps, perhaps integrated lighting. Make them look intentional and architectural. A statement of elevation change. Good luck!

I agree but why do you have to do this at all. Was this not approved before building? If you have to you have to so do a deck all along th whole front that joins up the pool. concrete so it looks good with the pool deck
