A nice area to view your daylilies!

I am decidedly not a fan of Maples having had to plant around them in my mothers border back in the day. Between the roots and those darned helicopters in spring, they were a test of my patience..........I think your patio looks grand. I do like the stonework. To get it level and looking right is a true craft IMO and the crew did a good job. It ought to look wonderful next spring when the plants begin growing. Do you plant spring bulbs in amongst your daylilies?.......Maryl

What a wonderful spot in your garden. How are you doing since the surgery? I haven't been on much with only an occasional peek to see the color posts. Weather here has been up and down and lucky we haven't gotten any snow....knock on wood.

Maryl, I did have spring bulbs with my daylilies in the bed behind the new patio. most of them are gone now…..they did too well and ended up taking too much room in my limited space.

Recovery is going well. I am hoping to quit wearing this darn vest I have had on the past two months, the sooner the better.

Sherry I am so sorry for your pain and troubles, I had no idea what you were going through. It has been a long haul and I hope you get the vest off soon. Too little too late but I am just happy you are recovering. Gentle hugs for you! Just goes to show I have not been on the Daylily forum since the alphabet.

It's nasty here today too. The older I get, the more I hate winter. Give me the heat (as long as I have air conditioning).

As for the winter weather, it is rather depressing. I've already got cabin fever from staying inside so much.

I understand about the bulbs taking over Sherry, especially if they are daffodils. I've had mine dug out twice in a small border area, but there's always one that manages to escape and the next thing you know the space is packed again.........Happy you are on the mend. I can't imagine having to wear a vest like that for months on end. Do you expect to be back at full strength by daylily season?.............Maryl

Maryl, thats the plan for spring! Hopefully will be returning to my Sweet Adeline chorus in January, cant get a good singing breath with the darn vest now.

Good timing on finishing your retaining walls and what a pretty design on your new brick patio.

Sorry to hear about any health issues, but that also sounds like good timing if you’ll be better by spring and ready to garden!

We’ve been dry up until a couple of days ago when we got 6-8” of snow at my house. We need the water so I’m not complaining (except when I’m shoveling it:).

Heucheras are weird plants. They can fade away in good conditions but put them between huge maple roots and they thrive.

I really like the retaining walls and the patio. It is lovely. I am sure you are dreadfully tired of vest, spring will indeed come, the vest will go and you will sing again. It is hard to see the season end, but there will be joy again.
