My guess would be to contact hotels with handicap availability and ask them if they have a recliner available for use.

If traveling in Neosho MO (Near Joyce Myer, and Laura Ingalls Wilder home) , Boonslick Lodge has a wonderful reclinder. Don't need to request a handicapped room. It surprised me that it was a Travel Lodge company.

Most hotels national Economy or Extended stay hotels don't have such recliners.

I suggest using a site that posts hotel searches and reviews. This way you can take notice of the furnishings in the room. It may be more costly to find unique lodging over big name stays.

My friend bought a good zero gravity folding outdoor chaise and brings that along to sleep in when they travel. Works for car trips anyway...
