Inspector or Engineer needed?

last modified: 3 years ago

My house is 50 years old. Just had a kitchen remodel done.

Once the weather turned cold, some issues started popping up. My son's bedroom door won't close all the way (new interior doors were part of the remodel). Crown is separating from ceiling. Caulk line where the counter meets the backsplash is separating. Cracks in drywall. Floor creaks and nail pops in my new LVP.

We previously had some outdoor water/drainage issues but installed all new gutters and downspouts a few years ago. Could these issues be caused by a leaky sewer line? Ours could probably be replaced due to tree roots. We still have 3 mature trees on our property--have already cut down 3 over the past ~10 yrs.

Who should I call to look into this--home inspector or a structural engineer? I am fearing foundation issues.... *sigh*
