Junction Box Location Built in Oven

Community - I am having challenges replacing my older Bosche double oven in an existing cut out location. The new ovens are larger than the old ones causing a space challenge. What will work is sizing down to a 27" combination oven and use Micro Trim to fill in around the oven.

Unfortunately - 27" combination ovens are limited. My question is the Jenn Air 27" Combination Oven installation guide calls for the junction box below the oven. My current junction box is on the top right and would prefer not the change the location of the box. I contacted Jenn Air's chat/customer service and asked. They person running the chat said to follow the instructions. Does anyone know if it is possible to connect the Jenn Air Noir/Rise to a junction box in the top right. Really appreciate any suggestions!

One need not change the existing box location, but run flex or a cable from it to a new box location that can accept the flex from the oven. The new box only has to be fastened to the cabinet structure, and not necessarily nicely planted in the wall.

The installation guide I just skimmed seemed to be making the point that the junction box location was for the convenience of repair, and not because electrical or thermal safety required it. Depending on your cabinet interior volume (excess), you could potentially place the intermediate box in a number of locations, so long as unit removal and internal repair access was achieved. I suggest you consult with an electrician when you have the unit on site. The directions are already suspect in that the unit drawing and the described location of the hole to the electrical box seemed to be inconsistent, or perhaps ambiguous.

I guess I need to know why the advice for the juction box placement so speak to someone at Jennair who is not the receptionst in customer service . A service tech probably the best bet if possible .Waht is the issue with the cuttout for the ovens you had before I need pictures please .

The Jenn-Air Owners Manual states, "Electrical supply junction box should be located 3" (7.6 cm) maximum below the support surface when the oven is installed in a wall cabinet" and there is no mention of this being for the convenience of repair. The accompanying diagrams also show the junction box locations below the oven.

The diagrams on the Specs sheets for the 27" GE Profile PKD7000SNSS and 27" Cafe CKD70DP2NS1 show the junction box at the rear-top-right of the appliance which appears to be where your box is located. CR did not test 27" double ovens but it did test 30" models and the 30" siblings of these two models were recommended (note: CR recommends not making a conclusion of equivalent performance).

Had a similar problem: my outlet box for a range was too high because of a conflict with a pipe in the wall. Didn't catch the problem until the range was delivered and ready to install. So, I bought a 6' 50 amp pigtail, cut off the plug, and hardwired the cut end into the original double-deep metal junction box using the proper cable clamp and closing things up with a 4" square cover plate. The combined #6/#8 wire connections were too big for wire nuts, so I used bronze split bolt clamps and wrapped them in tape. Then ran the pigtail behind and under the wall pipe, bringing it out low and securing it with a homemade round metal cover plate/PVC elbow to aim the pigtail horizontally into the stove recess area. I was left with about 4' of pigtail that I then hardwired to the stove connections.

A conduit containing the oven wires comes attached to the oven.

"The combined #6/#8 wire connections were too big for wire nuts"

Polaris connectors are for this purpose.

Note that the conductors supplied with the oven may be rated at higher temperature than normal house wiring conductors. This means that if one were to replace them, it would have to be with larger diameter conductors.
