Which hosta suppliers are still left?

I've got the bug to get some older hostas ordered. Are there any who do field grown hosta still out there? I know Green Mountain is still there, and I ordered a few from them. However, they really screwed up my order last year, so I'm reluctant to count on them. Their reviews have been "flakey" since the start of COVID.

I'd really like some of the older varieties. For instance, I always wanted a Pineapple Upside Down cake. I'd like a couple of Doug Beilstein hosta with great blooms (probably won't find that field grown). I'd like more of Tony Avent hosta, but no one seems to sell them.

So many of the great growers have either died or retired. It's left a big hole in the quest for some great hosta.

Any suggestions?

I read the referenced article, too. It was a newspaper article, not a facebook post. It says the same thing that the website does. There has been no update to the website since The post last year saying they were not taking orders. I understand that Facebook is really easy to use. Websites are more difficult to manipulate. I bought hosta from Jeff and the quality was great. The guy who bought Lakeside uses Facebook only. I suppose I miss out on lots of things. I still don't do Facebook.

Thanks, I had forgotten Seabright. Is Land of the Giants up and running again? Their website hasn't changed since last winter.

hngnews.com has an article indicating Jeff’s daughter and her partner will be running the bussiness. Apparently they have a FB page giving information. As you said, their web page indicates they are temporarily closed.

If you search ”A gian legacy, Milton Courier” it should find the article. Not sure why the link doesn’t work.

Sorry, I don't do Facebook. Their website says they will update on facebook, (which I guess is easy).

Northern grown perennials do field grown. Mike Dammon from Hostas store has great hostas.

Also I recently found Hillcrest hosta, got some old varieties from them that were not much anywhere else. Paid by check mail in. Very nice people.

Yeah, lot moved to FB group hosta buyers and post direct sales as opposed to have full website. It seems helps sellers to sell when and what they want ad opposed to getting too many orders at once.

Would you be able to do messenger? I think both Uniquely and LOTG respond well to queries via messenger.

Uniquely website is up.

Sue Anderson of Mason Hollow hosta has updated theirs.

Victoria Serafin from Glenbrook hostas will not have her website but you can reach her by DM or message.

Inthecountry has NY special with free shiping and I think Uniquely.
