Would the interior make sense if the door were reversed (hinge on the other side)? No to a faux sidelight ... if it doesn't work indoors, it shouldn't be imitated outdoors. If you just need something on the outside with no change to the interior, perhaps a planter ...

Two words: outdoor topiaries. I would put a few topiaries on the one side with more space. Then put the samw on the other side but you will need to build or buy a few outdoor plant stands that are about the sane height as the stoop. This gives the illusion that the stoop is evident and thus balanced.

Agree - you need to thoughtfully accessorize the porch to create balance - unrelated but wondering about the home without the shutters? might be nice to remove them and see what you think

IMO a portico will just draw attention to the off door,I would do a blck and glass awning and a large black planter filled to over flowing with seasonal plants and decor. Much larger house numbers too .

You need to embrace the asymmetry. Put a huge pot to the right of the door, or a cute, colorful bench with a smaller pot beside it. Use the space to create a vignette that will balance the space. You don’t need to build anything. Start with the basics. A Large pot. Or a bench. Not lots of ditzy small things. Your house is very sweet. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
