that is a perfect light for that space. you cant go much larger or lower and bell jars are timeless and expensive. Id change the rug if anything.

I can't tell how high your ceilings are, but they look like 8' at the most. Most newer fixtures are pretty large so you may have trouble hanging something else. I agree with RL Relocation that what you have is very attractive, but if you really want a change, look at semi-flush fixtures. I really like lantern-type fixtures and they would fit your style, but the semi-flush ones don't look as good as ones that hang, so I don't know if that would work for you. You'll have to browse and pay particular attention to the size of the fixtures. The general rule is to not hang anything less than 7' from the floor.
