True...I'm not unhappy with it but think youre right about the floor. What are your thoughts on the wall color?

I would remove the mantle and the columns on the fireplace. They look like an afterthought. It should have one straight mantle across similar to the existing mantle. That could be re used maybe, it just depends upon why the columns appear to be holding it up, in the first place.

Agree with @cat_ky on removing FP columns & either redoing or getting a new mantle. I’m assuming the furnishings & decor is the sellers not yours? It all looks a specific style & will be a dramatic change once that’s all out. Maybe you can photoshop to get a peek at the difference. Looks like kitchen & dining have the same flooring & there’s a definite break between it & LR. I like the cab color with counters & the wall color of the soffits. My focus would be on new backsplash & flooring for that area, ditch the window valance & update blind. Lighting change might be on my list too. I’m not sure about the ceiling fixture in kitchen & DR. Fake drawer front embellishments at sink & stove are part of that seller specific style & I’d remove too. I think all of these ’smaller’ changes would have a more positive impact than painting cabinets - maybe for less $$ too which is always a bonus!

That's a doozy of a light fixture. Before making any decisions on finishes I'd sort out the lighting.

Recommended general lighting in a kitchen is sometimes calculated as 35 lumens per square foot (in addition to undercabinet lighting). Switching to a surface mount track light system that gets you to 35 lumens/sf is a good, immediate fix. You'll also want to add undercabinet lighting and swap what's over the sink for a pendant. Be mindful of the color temp of the bulbs and try to get them all the same throughout the space - I prefer 3000K.

The peninsula soffit overhang (and the sink) are challenging, but if you paint the rest of the soffits to match the cabinets it will resemble floor to ceiling cabinetry with the crown molding on top.

The floor looks just fine. I wouldnt be putting my money into replacing that. If you like sage for cabinets, find a nice sage color, and clean them well, and sand them well, and then clean them again. Primer with a sealing bonding type primer and paint them. Please dont use regular interior house type paint. Buy the paint that is meant for cabinets. I would also remove all the appliqued stuff on the cabinet fronts, so they are just plain cabinets. In the living room, I absolutely love that set up for the tv, but, the fancy stuff on the front, needs to be removed, so they are just plain fronts too, and then you can paint it all. Once the cabinets are all painted, then its time to pick the color for the walls and paint them.

@Tonya McMichael Thanks, Tonya, for confirming that about the furniture. So, my original thoughts haven’t changed. Move in, get rid of the style specific finishes that aren’t yours and are easily removeable - the FP pillars, embellishments on kitchen cabinets, kitchen window treatment etc. Take a look at the kitchen & dining lighting before doing anything color wise - the correct lighting makes a world of difference in how colors appear. Congrats on your new home!

Standing in the kitchen looking into the dining area, I would work around the floor and go dark on the walls. It will work with cabinets, floor and countertops.

Add a multi green tones for the table...make sure it has a light of the floor in the mix.
