blending vintage butcher block into island

I inherited a 23” x 24” vintage butcher block from my parents. I have had it in my own kitchens for over 30 years. I use it everyday as a work/prep surface. I want a larger work/prep surface, double what I have. How do I marry my beloved butcher block with another “island”?

    I'd have a rectangular island made that is the same width and height as your butcher block and have the two smack dab next to each other. Your butcher block is fabulous and I love that you use it daily. Don't let anyone convince you to just use the top and ditch the legs or to paint the legs. It is a gem just as it is.
