I am still studying the type of Zoysia that I have planted in. I did not buy it (either as plugs or sod), but rather re-planted it from my front yard, thus I do not know the variety. There are only 2 types of Zoysia commonly found in my area. They are Zoysia Japonica and Zoysia Matrella. When it flowers, the bud color suggest it is more to Matrella type but I might be wrong. Regardless, you are right @dchall_san_antonio, they are super duper s-l-o-w. I like they way they cover the dirt, super tight and able to choke out weeds! Below is where I took it from..

I am just thinking to replace my current bermuda (1200sqft) to all Zoysia like above but wonder how long will it take!

If you have a plugger and plenty of grass to take plugs from, I would plug them about a foot apart (your foot, my foot, Imperial foot - makes no difference).

Where do you live? I'm guessing not in the US.

Those two types of zoysia have many varieties within them. Have you ever had difficulties with disease, yellow spots, dry spots, or anything else?

Yes, I will plug them soon for sure. I am from Malaysia, Asia. Tropical climate and probably home for Zoysia grass.

Well, I did not really check those symptoms on Zoysia yet. Looks like my front yard Zoysia pretty healthy. But I will check on that too.

Malaysia, good to know. If you lived somewhere where I'm familiar, I would send you to a place where they grow different grasses to get some local tips and, maybe, identify your particular grass.

Another patches of Zoysia invaded at the top of the picture. Did a 1 inch cut for Bermuda. Will plug more Zoysia in between.. Real slow spreader..
