Best window for do it yourselfer

My wife and I live in SW Ohio on a farm for almost 2
Years now. We are slowly remodeling and the windows are double hung colonial/farmhouse style. We know the windows installed now are from 1999. Boy did they leak bad with this previous windy winter storm we had.

Since we are slowly remodeling, I’m looking for recommendations for high quality double hung windows that we can install ourself as we go. If not we’ll wait it out. It seems people really like Okna, Soft-Lite and maybe Polaris, but it seems you can’t buy those to install yourself. We did successfully install 2 new single hung Jeld-wen windows from Menards (it’s for a closet that had no windows and we don’t care as much about the closet).

For the rest of the house, I’m looking for recommendations on a higher quality self-install windows. If self install aren’t recommended, what brands do you all recommend the pros install (this will be way down the road)?

Thank you!
