CANNOT figure out kitchen backsplash

Please help! We did a little facelift to kitchen a few months ago. New countertops and painted cabinets. I need a tile backsplash. Plan is to remove the 3” “backsplash” currently there and lay tile but have no idea if inshould go with a basic white subway, gray (light or dark?) or a warmer off-white. I love the look of glass tile but it is more expensive. Thanks!!

I think white (light) subway tiles would look great if you want to make the countertop pop. Also, some interesting subway tile patterns might looks good as well. Google "subway tile backsplash patterns" and you will find a lot of ideas...

What does your flooring look like? Tile or wood-look? Busy pattern or calm? Light, medium, dark? Warm or cool? That will affect your backsplash choice.

i think I'd pick an arabesque for your space. try to get samples locally and prop a few different things up.

@linda floors are a medium brown with some hint of gray - this is a photo I found on phone that gives better view of kitchen

I'd want some color in that space so I'd do a green or blue subway. off-white subway or a more interesting pattern would be fine too. But off-white isn't going to add much so I might be lazy and just leave the current backsplash!
