Thank you! I did know I can purchase them through that website, only problem is the contractor only works with Menards or Home Depot so there’s limited options and they don’t really have anything close enough to these styles.

If that won't work, then fire the contractor and hire one who can find and deliver what you want.

Following on Cilantro's suggestion, perhaps consider other contractors. If your contractor only sources cabinetry from those two stores, you may be missing some very good options. Most good contractors use multiple suppliers like Ferguson's, custom cabinet shops, better tile shops, flooring specialists, etc.

We just did major renovations and our contractor allowed us to buy pretty much anywhere, especially with today's supply chain issues. He had long-term relationships with certain vendors, and we tried to use those when possible. He would run to HD for lumber, self self-leveling cement - stuff like that. But sourcing everything there would not have worked.

Your contractor is not your dictator. He is not your designer, YOU are. A contractor is your technician. Find someone else. Save yourself now. It's a lot better than later.

I have the boos mixed walnut BB on a small prep table. It is so practical and looks as new as the first day after years of use with just quarterly oiling. I highly recommend using their BB.

Tell him you're sourcing the counters yourself. Get his bid on the rest of the work. Get other bids from alternative contractors. You can find a carpenter who can install the counter material. Get the best long-term finished product.

What you're seeing in the multi-color walnut is the color difference between lighter sapwood and the darker range of heartwood. Sapwood wouldn't be used in cabinetmaking because of the color difference.

If he is a decent installer he should be able to work with most countertops no matter where they are sourced from.

I looked for wood counters from HD and other big box stores. Here, they only sold by predetermined sized slab. My contractor had another vendor who specialized in wood tops and they were cut to size. This actually turned out to be more economical.

We live in an area that doesn’t have many business options so I’m not sure if that’s why the contractor we were going with only had the few options, but regardless it seems it will be best to use someone else so everything is done right and hopefully to a good standard.
