What are the openings to the right and left of the entry? Is one of them a closet? You may want to put a small chair or mini bench on one side so people can sit if needed. Where I live in the northeast USA, guests need a place to remove their winter gear. Guests who may be disabled or elderly sometimes need to sit. I have a good friend of mine who is 94 years old and she can't stand for any length of time. You're showing an entry that appears to have no space for a table or art. Then a stair wall that is blank, and an art opportunity, then a dining area with a lone table and chairs. You just moved in, and you just had a baby.

Spend some time looking at rooms you love. What colors beside black and white, do you like? Where is the REST of the room with the tv?

You seem to have edge to edge carpet, no wood flooring or accent rug opportunities right now.

Nobody can tell you what art to like. You have to do some shopping, and think about what YOU like. What spaces look good to you?

A new house is a clean slate. It doesn't happen as "Just get this" anything. You have to put the "you" into yours.

Maybe start with that dining area, near the front entry. Find something LARGE , or a series of three for that big blank wall. That you like. We can't pick for you. Go on "Great Big Canvas, or Art .com......

I need to see the whole entry to start. I agree from what I see there is not much space, for either of the things you mention I would start with a huge piece of art on the DR wall ,The TV needs a wider stand and lower to have TV at the proper viewing height . But I need to see the room if you are asking about that space . I would remove the wereath for the front door they are never attractive from the back unless amde to do that . I would get a fabulous entry light that is hung to be seen in thta upper window and once you have decided on art a color from the art for the entry rug. Slow down enjoy the baby and think long and hard before every thing you do . The best spaces come together slowly with things you love not just stuff to fill spaces .
