Garage Door Style Help

I've photoshopped some designs and not sure what works, if any! The colors aren't necessarily what I am doing on the garage doors or the whole house for that matter. The exterior paint colors are also photoshopped and not the actual color of the house! Just trying to find the appropriate style for the house!

Thanks!

These doors all look a bit too traditional for what comes off as a more contemporary type of home. I'd look for something with horizontal lines and no boxy panels.

Try not to have the biggest windows on the house be in the garage.

What are we looking at? Is this your house?

I was also thinking that the home leans more modern than the traditional doors you have mocked up. Clopay has some interesting doors that trend modern (like the Canyon Ridge Modern, below), and they have a visualization tool.

What if the front door style is this? Should it also be different?

Door color clashes with house color. Dor styles clssh with the style of the house. Who designed the house? Show more of the house.

Stone short walls look like they're a DIY afterthought.

    Where is the location?

Yes that looks better to me anyway

I agree none of the ones you posted and not wood either and that front door does not go with the house either . If you want to add wood to the house then you need to lose the stone . I would do anice black garage door ;ike the one in the one in the post above anf a front door the sort of style in black too. Natyral cedar would be a good addition if the stone was gone but the style of doors would not change you would still need a much more modern front and garage door

Could any of these doors work if I did a more modern garage door? Whether paint or wood look?

I think I'd like the garage doors to match the house body. But the front door should be a color that shows it off and says DOOR HERE.

Between the idyllic setting and the painted-in doors, it doesn't look like a real house. :)

The colors of the doors and the house do not look good together. You need a warmer wood with that grey.

OK, trying to get a grip on this!!!

Can I use a front door like one without the windows OR Should I opt for something with glass? We get super cold here so was trying to stay insulated!

I like the 6 panel glass one, I think it will work with the style of the house, I don’t think it will make a big difference heat wise. but again that wood finish if too drab.

@Alicia Thanks for your feedback. The color on the house is yet to be determined and is just a photoshopped color in these images! BUT I hear what you are saying! You like something more like this, yes? I obviously need guidance, lol.

What everyone here is reacting to is the bland design of the main facade of the house. It's not modern. It lacks design. I'd put effort into the window size and placement. If the small interesting spindly pine were removed the remaining picture would be woefully lacking in character. The stone column bases need to be part of more. The roof lines are nice beginnings. The large blank siding expanses would benefit from some reveal of what they cover.

Getting closer! Can you do a mockup with the garage door window location flipped? It might visually balance the doors better. (or not!)

What color is the house now? (No reason. Just curious.)

I am assuming you have glorious views out the banks of windows in the back of the house ...

Jeri, I just saw your other post about house colors. I love the colors Beth suggested for your home. Did you like those?

    @Stacey

She did present some good colors. I was looking hard at S/W Anonymous and Warm Stone. We'll see. Needing to get my door situation figured out as we have issues with the existing doors!

    @Iri

Flipped the garage doors...which do you like better? And yes, though it may lack a lot of character in front, the back is offers windows and beautiful views. I rather like that it is a mystery from the front!

WINDOWS ON THE RIGHT OR ON THE LEFT? OR, dare I even say on the outsides of each or is that a hard no?

I also like the black front door Beth posted plus a slight darker wood with the windows on left for garage doors

In your most recent choices, I am drawn to the windows on the left, option 2. In your original options, I liked option 4.

@pricklypearcactus of the 2 garage doors you mention....which do you prefer?

Both garage windows to the left.

Was looking at your other post about house colors. You current color is nice, just needs a different color trim. I would match the garage doors to the wood tone of your overhang wood paneling, which is more of a warm cedar.
