I think the dining area would look more intentional and inviting if you chose a fixture that hung at the standard 30-36" above the table -- if it were me, I would find a light I loved for the dining area then find a complementary semi flush fixture for the entry

Are those two cans next to the dining room fixture? Is the dining room fixture centered over the table? As la_la Girl said, this would look better if it were an actual chandelier. They make something very similar to what you have as a chandelier if you like that style. But if it isn't currently centered you will need to fix that first. Frequently fixtures are sold in collections. So if you get a new chandelier hopefully there will be a semi-flush fixture available for the foyer that goes with the dining room fixture in the same collection.

The dining fixture is way too small. I would replace that one with something larger and lower and actually use a ceiling fixture in the entry rather than one that hangs down like yours is doing currently. If you like the dining fixture, you could move that to the entry. But it's the scale of the dining fixture that is throwing everything off.

Either work just great. If you do go with circular, just don't go too large. You don't want it to look too big over your table...36" wide is probably the largest I would think.

Take pictures of all of your spaces in DAYLIGHT. Clean up all the clutter first, meaning the remains of the meal just eaten. Now.......What is the feel you want in your home? Can't guess from the light you have now which aren't a great marriage. Got an inspo pic of a dining are you love? Is it colorful, neutral, modern , a bit rustic? what? What is the size of the dining table?

Also... before you hang anything over that table, which MAY be positioned in the wrong direction as we can't tell from that picture.........the recessed need to go bye bye. Sorry.......yes as in out.

If you want to complement hall light (which seems to be brass finish), then something like this might be good. Again, though, measure carefully. Most fixtures come in multiple sizes depending on your table.
