The cushion count would not bother me - are they the same fabric/color?

FWIW I generally prefer a more unfitted look of a sofa with 2 chairs (chairs in a complementary but not identical finish as the sofa)

Any chance you could post the pieces and the room?

Please no loveseat they are only just a big chair so a sofa and either 2 or one chair If you post the spaces floor plan to scale we can help further. Pics of the ones you like also.

Thank you!! This is the space, our lake place. We currently have the sofa/loveseat and that is what our married children with dogs like;). I do not want a sectional. Plus, if you open photo you can see we also have a brown leather recliner. I will see if I can find sofa loveseat that I am looking at to share photo

I have a sofa/loveseat combo in my family room and everyone loves it. In your room, I feel the etagere is a little distracting. Could you remove it and thus give the leather chair a little room to breathe?

I've had both 2-cushion and 3-cushion 84" sofas. The problem with having only 2 cushions is that each cushion is fairly long and can dip in the middle. Especially when you have a small dog that likes to perch on them! So every sofa I've purchased lately has been a 3-cushion.

I too prefer a sofa and two club chairs rather than a loveseat, but that's a personal choice.

Thank you, Diana! I will give that more consideration for sure. It’s our family and pet getaway (sometimes 5 dogs who are allowed on the furniture) and seems to be what everyone prefers especially with the recliner already there. Here are the slipcover sofa options we are likely buying in denim.
