Gary, I never heard of Larry Englerth! It’s a beauty……you must have been collecting hostas for awhile now as you seem to have a number of hostas, I have never heard of….

very nice. I looked it up and se that it’s a Benedict hosta from 86. Very nice indeed.

debra, received it as a gift from Ken. (I do have 900 plus cultivars that I play around with.)

Debra I like LME. I like all the mice. I think Love Pat is bluer and a bit smaller the ADG. The Compare Hosta feature is not often wrong in their info but they are in the case of Love Pat. They say it is 14x16 but mine is 36-40" across. I did think the were similar enough that i did not feel the need to get ADG.

I love both mbug's and Shadow's Luna Moth pictures and am reminded why I keep putting it on my 'to grow' list each year. The color difference, is it due to time of year when the photo was taken or sun exposure? I would assume the yellower margins would either be older or in more sun.

In my experience the color on Luna Moth is very stable shortly after the spring flush when it starts a little muted with less color contrast. Shadow's is either very early or growing in a lot of shadow (pun intended). Once upon a time I had a row of Luna Moths with more sun (and less root competition) towards the right side of the photo.

My Luna Moth gets afternoon sun and is 7-8 yrs old. I also have a short growing season and think that is a major factor in the difference. My Hosta are still unfurling in mid June.
