You have a chandelier and a fan light. That is enough general lighting. Put them both on dimmer switches for some mood control. The rest of the lighting in the room should be floor lamps and table lamps. They will provide for your coziness.

A room this size you want 3 or 4, that will also allow you control of how many of them are turned on at a time and which ones, depending on where people are sitting, reading, or to eliminate reflection on the TV screen, etc.

You can also add some recessed lights with a dimmer to control the intensity, or those indirect lights as well.

go all recessed, id do 3 on each side of the beam, and possibly add one to shine on the FP on its own switch. Table and floor lamps are the little bit of light for the night time so be sure to add those and put the recessed on dimmers.

Table and floor lamps for this room will take the attention away from that horrible texture on the ceiling.

Lamps and floor lamps should be able to work for you, or you could look into flush mount lighting but recessed lighting might not be a good option for you. Below are lots of ideas for lamps that might help you more.
