not at all needed... already detail enough w .window glass panes/ some objects on shelf above window more or less sit there/ if you want detail or such get an interesting basket or two or bigger pieces of pottery .../ you have a nice ledge behind the counter. get some attractive slightly bigger pots and a bit taller plants for sun....do you have some older family cookbooks that dont get used but have sentimental value.....you can place them up on the shelf / books are nice decor so dont rip the shelf off.

I would not. That area can be changed with the seasons. Maybe peel and stick wallpaper to add color every now and then. Even a stencil. Not sure if you will add window coverings.
