Paula - Curious about "lost" your hawk. I have them here on a regular basis, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered but mostly Cooper's. The Cooper's is always watching the bird feeders and dines on the mourning doves. I wish they would concentrate more on the squirrels, moles and voles.

Debra - I think your PJ or June could be a coin toss, both being a sport of halcyon and they vary so much by time of year and amount of sun. Whatever it is, it is very nice.

Old Dirt lost as in found him past away. My son tells me he sees owls out there often at night. My cat of 14 years went out between Christmas and New Year. She did not return and we knew nothing. Now I am going to go out more in the night to see what is there. Some days bird-wise it can be a vicious world out there. I hope I get a new hawk. He will though have to work for his keep. Thank you.

Debra according to the HL Paradise Joyce starts out blue and then gets its colour, whereas June has the yellow centre from the beginning. I know in my garden June is screaming yellow in spring. Unless you have pics from emergence it would be difficult to say which it is.

The picture above that I posted is from mid May and it’s screaming yellow in my opinion. Let me see if I have an earlier photo……

I went back to the HL and the J posts and looked at all the Junes and have decided that is what I have……all these years I could not understand all the rave about June, when I always thought Paradise Joyce was far prettier…….duh 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

This hosta was purchased from a local garden center and mislabled. This was back in the day when I could not tell most hostas apart! ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Love that Paradise Power, I would definitely add that one to my garden if I ever came across one.

ll - thanks for the pic of Pearly Gates. Mine did great the first two years then dwindled last year until I rescued it into a pot. I'll definitely be looking for a better place for it this year. That one leaf looks amazing. Mine hangs on to the yellow edge for a bit. Here it is in the end of June 2020.
