I'd enjoy seeing a photo of their progress so far. I remember your previous post. You shoulda left it! People come in months even years later and enjoy looking.

socks, thanks for the comment. I just have to get used to the slower pace of this forum. I gave away several seedlings and experimented with the rest. Some fared better than others. I’m pretty sure they needed to be stronger before I tried caudex training.

Today I cut back the roots on two and will transplant tomorrow. You can see that both plants had their roots trimmed back in March. First plant:

And here are the parents. The seed was on the first plant but there are definitely indications that the second plant was involved.

And we have our first bloom!
